For Northstar Marketing, we created an ‘Academy Awards’ style show, including an opening production number all about the sales team, music themed to each award-winner, additional customized songs throughout the program, and a professional emcee/comedian.
A custom-written musical comedy show is a great way to make your meeting or event stand out, and to make your attendees feel truly special. Every show we do is completely different, but here are a few samples of previous shows to give you an idea of what we can create for your event:
For the tech conference MobileBeat, the app store GetJar put together ‘the Getties’ to honor the most innovative products on their platform. Lauren was the emcee, as ‘Lady Getjar’, doing Lady Gaga song parodies and keeping the program lively, fun, and fast-paced.
When the CEO of Honeywell Measurex retired, the company wanted to honor him in a unique way, so we put together a ‘musical’ all about him, his life, and his service to the company. Attendees enjoyed the entertainment and the tribute, and the guest of honor was delighted.
HP’s Photo Division had a 3-day long offsite meeting, which Lauren attended (disguised as an employee of the conference center); she then created a comedy show for the final dinner which was all about what had happened over the previous days, showcasing individual attendees and having fun with various events. The highlight of the show was when she got the department head onstage singing & dancing with her, and attendees said they not only enjoyed the show but it helped them remember the training they’d received.
When Bayview Bank merged with Eureka, employees were concerned about how they’d be affected by the difference in corporate cultures. Our show addressed ‘the elephant in the room’ at a meeting for all employees, which started with a boring, bogus keynote speaker segueing into a musical comedy revue poking fun the differences between the two companies and showing how management planned to address the concerns, making a potentially difficult merger much smoother.
For a banquet honoring company volunteers, this show featured a full band and cast of six in a look at company history through songs and sketches. The show was so successful that the CEO asked us back for the Annual Employee Meeting, for two new songs plus a medley of 'hits' from the first show.
At a management seminar, we followed new employee 'Dorothy' as she explored the divisions' various characters and situations. The 4 member cast impersonated well-known employees as well as characters from 'The Wizard of Oz', and we included several cameos by company personnel.
Top sales managers were treated to a weekend in San Francisco, culminating in an elegant banquet. We provided interactive characters during cocktails, and the same performers were featured in a fast-paced "Laugh-In"-style revue looking at the lighter side of auto sales (and poking fun at Ford competitors).
On the closing night of a program for incentive planners from across the country, we provided a show about the industry, with spoofs & parodies such as "Somewhere Overstressed Planners," and "As the Event Planner's Stomach Turns."
We created a comedy music revue which included a talking champagne bottle, a Julio Iglesias-impersonator singing "To All The Wines I've Drunk Before," and more. The show was so successful that Freixenet re-booked it for several additional events.
This fully-staged show celebrated the first phase of a new computer system. The cast took a light-hearted look at the project's history, including mad scientists, a tap-dancing computer, and cheerleading bankers.
"Great Moments In Customer Service" took a historical look at the division and its inside jokes, including cavemen forming the first utility, the company mascot 'Globey', a lounge medley of customer excuses, & the perils of voice mail.
We provided a one-hour customized musical about the life & times of Dean Lesher, owner of the Contra Costa Times. The show featured a cast of eight popular Bay Area performers, and elaborate costumes, staging and choreography.
"Lauren's work is always the highlight of our gala events!"
